ERASMUS+ Project ‘’Too hard to be soft??’’

(Transnational meeting in Nigde, Turkey)

On the 5-9th November the Turkish partners hosted the 1st meeting of the teachers involved in the ERASMUS+ Project ‘’Too hard to be soft?’’ in NIGDE. The 5 days of the mobility visit were packed with a lot of intensive activities mainly related to soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, creativity.

First of all, the project partners from Portugal, Poland, Italy and Lithuania were heartily welcomed by the Turkish school staff, students and the press representatives. During the teacher training sessions each country presented their methods and shared good practices focusing on developing soft skills. For example, the Turkish team demonstrated ‘’Creative Drama’’ method, the Polish school suggested using ‘’Story Telling Method’’, the Italian partners described ‘’Cooperative Learning and Debate Method’’, the Portuguese teachers focused on ‘’Games and Sports’’, and Lithuanian team presented ‘’Thinking maps’’.

The other activities of the meeting outside the school included going on tours of historic places such as Nigde, Cappadocia, Tarsus, Mersin.

All the partners feel grateful to the Turkish partners for holding such an effective meeting allowing the teachers from different countries not only to promote students’ soft skills and to strengthen teachers’ profession by sharing good practices but also to gain a valuable insight into the lifestyle of local people, their customs and traditions.
