IV Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace im. Hetmana Stanislawa Zolkiewskiego w Siedlcach
IV Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace is a public institution situated in Siedlce in the east of Poland. It educates nearly 450 students aged 16-19 in 14 classes of different profiles: humanistic, academic, mathematic, tourist-linguistic; it employs nearly 40 teachers. Our teachers participate in many methodology courses in Poland as well as in foreign countries. They have some experience in Comenius and Erasmus+ programmes. Our school is known because of great teachers and friendly atmosphere.
In Siedlce our school is the oldest secondary school with many traditions. It was established on 6 November 1844. The school is temporarily moved to another building because the original building is being rebuilt and renovated; it is going to be suitable to conduct lessons in 2019.
For years, a lot of famous and gifted students graduated from this institution, for example Bolesław Prus – one of the most famous Polish novelists, Józef Skłodowski – the principle of the school; grandfather of the Polish Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry Maria Skłodowska-Curie or Antoni Ponikowski – Prime Minister of the Second Polish Republic. Nowadays, we also have many ambitious and gifted students who are willing to take part in Erasmus+ KA229 for students.
The key staff involved in this project are mainly the English teachers who took part in many methodology and culture courses abroad and want to share their knowledge with other teachers from Europe. There are also the teachers of other subjects, the headmaster and deputy head who are willing to participate in different European projects because for them it is a great opportunity to develop the English language as well as teaching skills.
This is our first experience in KA229 action.
